Western New England College's football and lacrosse teams previously played their contests on the game field located near the St. Germain Campus Center. The College built a new residence hall on the site. The field hockey team played its events on a grass surface at Suprenant Field.

"The entire College has worked together to advance varsity and intramural sports because we recognize how beneficial these are for our students and for the growing reputation of Western New England College," said College president Dr. Anthony S. Caprio.

According to athletic director Mike Theulen, "This facility is a tremendous asset for our student-athletes and teams, and will complement our Alumni Healthful Living Center. It also allows us to deliver programming in a qualitative way for our student-athletes and student body."
