BIDDEFORD, Maine - Freshman right fielder Casey Brigham (New London, CT) had a one-out two-run walk-off single to lead second-seeded University of New England to a dramatic 7-6 victory over third-seeded Western New England College Thursday afternoon (Apr. 29) in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament.

Brigham finished with three hits (including a double) as the Nor'easters improved their record to 25-12. UNE will visit top-seeded Endicott on Friday (Apr. 30) in the double elimination tournament.

Western New England College, who defeated Curry in a opening round game Wednesday, scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead. The Golden Bears took advantage of a pair of errors with some timely hitting to erase the four-run deficit.

Sophomore third base player Sarah Lempicki (Plantsville, CT) knocked-in two runs with a single while sophomore designated player Rachel Wywra (Methuen, MA) delivered a RBI double. Senior second base player Kate Post (Bridgewater, MA) lofted a single just inside the right field line that scored both Lempicki and Wyrwa.

Senior center field Lauren Arsenault (Fitchburg, MA) had a 3-for-3 performance at the plate while Wyrwa had two hits. Sophomore shortstop Sara Barnes (Berkley, MA) contributed a double. Senior Victoria Lospinuso (West Islip, NY) (6-5) was the losing pitcher.

The Nor'easters compiled 13 hits with senior designated player Jenn Waldecker (Hooksett, NH), sophomore catcher Ashley Gott (Winterport, ME), and freshman second base player Erin Grover (Biddeford, ME) each getting two hits. Waldecker also had two RBI.

Sophomore Erin Lyons (Salem, NH) came on in relief in the seventh and picked-up the win to raise her record to 10-7.

The Golden Bears (23-18-1) will meet fourth-seeded Salve Regina at 2:30 p.m. Friday in an elimination game in Beverly, Massachusetts.
