CLERMONT, Fla. - The Western New England College softball team ended its spring break trip on a positive note with a 13-2 five-inning victory over Ripon (Wis.) Thursday (March 18) at the National Training Spring Games.
The Golden Bears, who dropped a 3-2 decision to Franciscan (Ohio) in the first game, finished with a 3-7 record in the Sunshine State.
Western New England College had its best offensive showing of the young season against Ripon collecting 14 hits.

Jeana Longo (Schenectady, NY) was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, three runs, and a run-batted-in.
Senior left fielder Christi
na Farese (Marlborough, MA) added a single, double, RBI, and three runs.
Senior second base player
Kate Post (Bridgewater, MA) contributed a pair of singles, two RBI, and run.
Junior first base player
Trish Breault (Millville, MA) chipped-in with a single, double, run, and RBI while junior catcher
Elyse Gauvin (Swansea, MA) had a big game with two singles, two runs, and three runs-batted-in.
