- Junior third baseman Tony Trubia (Tolland, CT) had three singles and a homer to lead the Western New England College baseball team to a 9-6 victory over Johns Hopkins Wednesday (March 17) at the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational.

Sophomore Mike Lawlor (Windsor, CT) pitched three perfect innings in relief allowing only one hit while striking out five for his second win without a loss this season.

The Golden Bears riased their record to 7-1 while the Blue Jays (ranked 30th nationally) fall to 7-3.
