WESTERN NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -  Western New England College freshman Elena Radzikowski (Medway, MA) was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Basketball Rookie-of-the-Week on Monday (Feb. 1).

The 6'1" center averaged 17.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, while shooting a sizzling 68% from the field (13-of-19) and an impressive 80% from the free throw line (8-of-10) as the Golden Bears split a pair of conference games.  

Radzikowski opened the week with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting with five rebounds in a 77-68 win at Nichols.  

Two days later, she followed with a season-high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and a 7-of-8 performance from the line in a tough 57-54 loss to visiting University of New England.  Radzikowski added three rebounds and season-bests with three assists and two steals.

Western New England College (11-6, 4-3 TCCC) visits Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday (Feb. 4).
