TCCC recognizes Golden Bears' guard Andre Shaw as the Rookie-of-the-Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College sophomore guard Andre Shaw (Jamaica, NY) was honored Monday (Jan. 18) as The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Rookie-of-the-Week. This is the second time he has received the award this season.
Starting his first games of the season Shaw averaged 18.5 points and shot 51.9% from the field (14-for-27) in conference wins over Roger Williams (76-57) and Endicott (88-81).
He scored 15 points and had five rebounds with three assists against the Hawks and followed with 22 points (his second highest total of the season) against the Gulls, which included 8-of-13 field goal attempts and 5-of-9 three-pointers. Shaw also had two assists and a pair of steals against Endicott.
Shaw is a Communication major.
Western New England College (6-7) visits Tufts (3-10) in a non-league game tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Medford, Massachusetts.
