Fredonia completes weekend sweep with win over Western New England College

FREDONIA, N.Y.
- The Fredonia State men's hockey team completed its weekend sweep of Western New England College with a 7-1 victory Saturday afternoon (Jan. 16) at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.

The Blue Devils, who defeated the Golden Bars 4-2 Friday night, raised their record to 13-4. WNEC falls to 1-11-1.

Senior goalie Kyle Yelich (Fredonia, NY) made his first start of the season and compiled 27 saves for the hosts.

Sophomore forward Bryan Ross (Livonia, MI) had a hat trick scoring just 1:10 into the contest and adding his two other scores in the middle period. Freshman forward Mitch Kulikoski (Calgary, Alberta) added two goals in the final period.

Western New England College trailed 2-0 after the opening stanza and 4-0 after Ross' goals in the second before freshman forward Nico Santaniello (East Longmeadow, MA) tallied his fifth goal of the season at the 13:52 mark.

Graduate student defenseman Chris Gillman (Wingdale, NY) and sophomore forward Mike Kaselouskas (East Longmeadow, MA) each received assists.

Freshman goalie T.J. Fatse (Hampden, MA) stopped 44 shots in his Golden Bears' debut.
