It's deja vu for WNEC after upsetting top-seeded Roger Williams in ECAC Tournament

BRISTOL, R.I. - It was deja vu for fourth-seeded Western New England College after defeating top-seeded Roger Williams 12-10 in a semifinal round contest of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament Saturday afternoon (May 9).

The Golden Bears (12-7) will visit third-seeded Castleton State in the championship game at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (May 10). The Spartans downed second-seeded Emerson 22-15 tonight in Boston.

For Western New England College, the win avenged a 17-7 home loss to the Hawks during the regular season. Both squads are members of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Last year the same thing happened as Western New England College beat RWU in the ECAC semifinals after dropping both regular season and conference tournament playoff decisions to the Hawks.

Sophomore Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) netted four goals to lead the Golden Bears' attack today.
