Justin Walz of Western New England College makes ESPN the Magazine Academic Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College junior shortstop Justin Walz (Groton, CT) has been named to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine College Division District 1 Baseball Academic Second Team.
Walz is a Sport Management major with a 3.72 cumulative grade-point-average. He also earned a spot on The COmmonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Academic Team.
Walz hit .356 in 46 games this spring as the Golden Bears posted a 30-17 record for their fifth 30-win campaign in the last six years.
Western New England College also repeated as TCCC Tournament champions and participated in the NCAA Division III Championship for the fourth consecutive year.
