SPRINGFIELD Mass. – Five Western New England College players were selected to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) All-Star Women’s Lacrosse Team on Wednesday (April 29).
Senior midfielder Lindsey Fenton (Pelham, MA) was the only player to be a First Team selection.
Sophomore midfielder Nicole Poli (Medfield, MA) was named to the Second Team and senior midfielder Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA), senior defender Erin Conn (Yorktown Heights, NY), and freshman Veronica Miano (Southington, CT) received honorable mentions.
Fenton led the Golden Bears with 67 points (54 goals, 13 assists) and was third in the conference in points per game (5.22). She is a History and Elementary Education major.
Poli ranks first in the nation in caused turnovers per game (4.81 average) and is seventh nationally in ground balls (4.94). She also led the conference in both categories. She is a Psychology major.
Thompson, a Management major, was third on the team in scoring (35 goals, eight assists).
Conn, a Marketing major, was second on the team in ground balls (40) and had 16 caused turnovers.
Miano, a Business major, compiled 37 ground balls and had 17 caused turnovers.
