CUMBERLAND, Me. - The Western New England College men and women's cross-country teams completed their respective seasons by competing at the NCAA Division III New England Championships Saturday (Nov. 14) at the Twin Brooks Recreational Center.
In the men's division, WNEC finished 34th among 48 schools in the team standings.
The top runner for the Golden Bears' was sophomore
Jeff Wagner (Norwalk, CT) who placed 188th among 323 competitors with a time of 28 minutes, 54.9 seconds over the 8000-meter course.
Edgar Kosgey of Williams was the individual winner in 25:16.2 in leading the Ephs' to the team title.
In the women's meet, Western New England College came in 45th among 47 teams.
Freshman
Hannah Laviolette (Three Rivers, MA) led the Golden Bears with a time of 25:51.1 for 6000-meters that was good for 170th place among 303 runners.
MIT claimed the team title after
Jacqui Wentz finished first in 21.35.7.
