SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Roger Williams placed four runners in the top 10 to capture its 10th consecutive The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Cross-Country Championship Saturday (Oct. 31) by a point over Salve Regina.
Roger Williams finished with 39 points followed by Salve Regina with 40 and the University of New England with 78. Gordon took fourth with 94 points with Endicott fifth with 127.
Host Western New England College placed sixth with 191 points followed by Colby-Sawyer with 215, Eastern Nazarene with 222, and Anna maria with 247.
SRU freshman Paige Pallotto was the individual champion with a time of 23 minutes, 31 seconds over the 6,000-meter campus course. She was named both the TCCC Runner-of-the-Year and Conference Rookie-of-the-Year. There were 121 performers in the event.
Sophomore Jess Partlow of the University of New England took second in 23:55.
RWU senior Emily Tran and freshman Lily Rulter were third and fourth in 24:11 and 24:21, respectively.
Gordon sophomore Amy Holcombe finished fifth in 24:21 followed by Salve Regina freshman Mallory Goding in 24:30.
Rounding out the top 10 were sophomore Kaitlin Crowley of Roger Williams in 25:00, SRU sophomore Caroline Norton in 25:03, Kim Shepherd of Endicott in 25:08, and RWU senior Susan Thaxter in 25:15.
Leading the way for Western New England College were freshman Hannah Laviolette (Three Rivers, MA) who was 26th in 26:16.5 and junior captain Angela Koontz (Marblehead, MA) who came in 31st with a time of 26:39.
