WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Western New England College women's cross-country team placed 42nd among 49 schools at the NCAA Division III New England Qualifier in its final race of the season Saturday (Nov. 15) at Mount Greylock High School.

The top two runners for the Golden Bears were senior captain Jackie Beers (Litchfield, CT) and sophomore Angela Koontz (Marblehead, MA).

Beers finished 199th among 330 runners with a time of 27 minutes, 39.1 seconds over the 6,000-meter course.

Koontz crossed the finish line in 211th place with a time of 27:54.4.

Middlebury was the team champion while Amherst senior Elise Tropiano was the individual winner in 21:49.2.
