Golden Bears place sixth on home course
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - With four runners finishing in the top five, Roger Williams claimed the team title at The Commownealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Cross-Country Championship Saturday (Nov. 1) at Western New England College.
The Hawks totaled 23 points to outdistance Gordon who had 56 points and Endicott who compiled 88 points.
Rounding out the field were Salve Regina (97), University of New England (107), Western New England College (172), New England College (191), Curry (237), and Eastern Nazarene (281).
Gordon sophomore Hannah Matthews was the individual champion covering the 6,000-metercampus course in 23 minutes, 15 seconds.
RWU senior Emily Bome was second (24:12), followed by teammates, junior Susan Thaxter (24:30), senior Megan Fish (24:39), and junior Juliana Fernandes (24:40).
Western New England College's top runner was seniorcaptain Jackie Beers (Litchfield, CT) who finished 22nd (25:50).
